Columbine - Blackcurrant Ice:

Columbine Blackcurrant Ice, Aquilegia flabellata 'Blackcurrant Ice', attract hummingbirds and butterflies. This dwarf columbine is reported to be less susceptible to insect damage. Aquilegia 'Blackcurrant Ice' has blue green foliage with bicolor flowers of creamy yellow corollas that are draped with purple petals. 'Blackcurrant Ice' is great for container gardening and cut flower arrangements! This columbine is a very sought after plant for its unique flower and leaf forms. 'Blackcurrant Ice' is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Tolerates wide range of soils except heavy, poorly drained ones. Prefers rich, moist soils with light to moderate shade. Remove flowering stems after bloom to encourage additional bloom. Keep soils uniformly moist after bloom to prolong attractive foliage appearance. When foliage depreciates, plants may be cut to the ground.
